CSMPHS Brief History

School Motto: "In God's Mercy, We Serve with Joy!"

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The birth of CSMPHS was the result of a fervent aspiration of vision to indoctrinate Christianity among the youth under the missionary zeal of the Columban Fathers. Rev. Fr. PATRICK P. CASHMAN, SSC, an Irish Priest who pioneered the said institution. The legacies of these noble remain in the hearts of the Mahinognons because of his exemplary virtues.

CSMPHS aims into existence in 1954. The Christian formation of its students ushered into priesthood and the vocation to the religious life of some of our graduates.

During the succeeding twenty-two years of existence, CSMPHS saw the need for a change in its Administration and physical structure. In 1976, the responsibility of running the school was relegated to the RELIGIOUS SISTERS OF MERCY, Cork, Ireland. A formal turnover and acceptance of Administration from the Columban Fathers represented by Rev. Fr. Michael Donahue, SSC to Rev. Sr. Emmanuel Browne, RSM. The ceremony was officiated by the late Most Rev. Patrick Cronin, Archbishop of Cagayan de Oro.

The school began to take a new shape under the able direction of the Religious Sisters of Mercy. More classrooms were added to accommodate an increasing number of students. In its desire to upgrade and improve its standards, CSMPHS assessed its strengths and weaknesses and confronted itself in the planning of a more realistic and attainable objectives and programs.

Today, in its sixth decade of existence, CSMPHS is growing in term of facilities and standards. It continuously works on the DepED National Program for the QUALITY EDUCATION ONWARDS and is ever committed to the Christian Formation of the Community it serves.
